If a company distributed 50m shares instead of 3m among the staff and let them cash out at the same generous terms they allow themselves, you would have a far more loyal workforce. Recruiting would be easier as well. And, although most companies are led by people too greedy and shortsighted to see it, they would have far more control of the company. If workers owned 10 percent of the shares, companies would be far less likely to be taken over. You could also control compensation levels.

The company, unlike many others, is in a position to be sold or merged, because its cumulative debt is actually controllable. It is a solvable problem because it is within the range of eventual profitability. The odds of profitability at anything over $50m is unlikely. This company is a prime candidate for merger or outright purchase.

MegNut leaves KnowNow. I thought Rohit & Adam & friends were doing cool stuff…maybe I was wrong.
And heck, I didn’t like my job. Not one bit. It wasn’t interesting. It wasn’t challenging. And culturally it was a terrible fit, and I mean terrible! I’ll miss working with some of the nice folks there, and I’ll miss the paychecks, but that’s it. That clueless train can head on down the tracks without me and Matt on board.
